A fun introduction to hand embroidery designed for beginners or those who want a refresher.

Children’s drawings and hand prints are special – they are simple and expressive and are perfect for stitching a treasure that you can frame or make into a cushion or other item. If you don’t have a drawing you would like to stitch we have a selection of contemporary and traditional images you can use.

We will explore a selection of stitches: running stitch, back stitch, stem stitch, french knots and seeding stitch. Learn how to transfer your drawing onto a base fabric and how to use the stitches and scraps of your favourite children’s clothes or other fabrics to create a special collaborative piece.

You will leave with everything you need to know to complete your stitching at home and the confidence to create your next embroidery independently.
