We show you how to create your own garment by modifying a pattern block to your shape and size as well as all the techniques and tips to make your garment unique and tailored to you. We start with making a skirt from scratch. Once you have developed your skills with the skirt, Christina will work with you to create garments of your own choice.

Attendees tend to come for many terms enjoying the chance to relax, unwind and enjoy creating with a small group of like minded people. At the same time they make beautiful tailored garments for themselves and their families.

Stitch Club’s dressmaking sessions are run weekly during term time by Christina Figur. Christina studied Tailoring and Fashion Design in Norway, Italy and England before working as a designer for the likes of Top Shop and Paul Smith and who brings a wonderful Nordic aesthetic to our work. Her background ensures that she appreciates the beauty and value in the quirky details; in making unique items and not just mass produced pieces.

You will learn about fabric, pattern cutting, using commercial patterns, sewing and designing as well as many small details which make your garment a success.

We provide the pattern making equipment and the calico for making your first toile as well as basic notions. During your first few sessions you will discuss the fabric requirements for your finished garment with Christina. You can then get the fabric you need.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
